Hawkswood School, a NJ approved private school for students with disabilities, is searching for part-time Teaching Assistants to work with students on the autism spectrum and students with multiple disabilities, ages 3 through 21. This is a wonderful opportunity for matriculated students to gain valuable job experience, earn a competitive hourly wage, and obtain tuition reimbursement.
Teaching Assistants work closely with students under the direction of the classroom teacher and therapists in meeting each student’s individual program goals through academics, functional communication skills, social skills, and behavioral support.

Employment Requirements/Benefits/Applying for Position
Employment Requirements:
- The teaching assistant must be a matriculated college student and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- Must hold a minimum of a High School Diploma
- Previous experience with special needs children or adults is helpful.
Benefits:
Tuition Reimbursement of 18 credits per academic year, not to exceed $9,900 per academic year, based upon the reimbursement rates in Hawkswood School policy.
Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of matriculation and grade point average, as well as complete a physical and drug screen, and a NJ Department of Education criminal history background check.
